Day Four

Everyone is just getting into the routine and we have to go home.

We had an action packed last full day which ended with the traditional Disco. Some of the girls were really worried that they wouldn’t have enough time to get ready, but they managed it and all looked lovely. They are now packing their cases and tidying their rooms.
We gave out some small prizes to those who had made an impression and thank you’s to all staff- St. John’s and PGL

Tomorrow we have activities in the morning and will be leaving Boreaton Park at 1.00 pm. We will stop for a break on the way home and hope to arrive between 6.00 and 7.00pm. I will use group call to let you know of our progress around 4.00pm and students can use their own phones when we get closer to home.

Here are just a few quotes from those who went.

“The giant swing was very scary for me because I’m afraid of roller coasters, but I’m pleased to say I can do it”

“Exhausting but absolutely brilliant”

“Sensory trail gives you trust in others because you have to rely on your friends to tell you what’s in front of you and where to put your feet”

They push you until you can do it. I really loved the trapeze”

“It’s been very enjoyable and a great week”

“The swing was scary at first but once I went down I didn’t want to get off”

“Canoeing was good because it made me think of other sports as you have to work as a team- it isn’t a one man sport”

“I actually need a medallion”

“It’s been great fun and very challenging”

“Challenging and fun”

“Tiring”

Day Three

The weather took a turn today, we had rain in the morning, but it stopped after lunch at least it wasn’t too cold.
Several groups took part in water activities – raft building and canoes. Other tried the trapeze, quad bikes, fencing and of course the climbing wall. Competition for the climbing wall champion is hotting up.
This is the results for today. Cameron the champ literally ran up the vertical wall and got to the top in 18.43 seconds. Runners up were Jammy Jamie and Desperate Dan with 29.65 and 30.49 respectively. Winner to be announced at the end of the week.

Billy the spider - 25 seconds
Joe the Web - 26 seconds
Underdog Dan - 26 seconds
and jealous George who took rather longer to reach the top of the wall.Students learnt to fence, ride quad bikes, had fun on the zip wire and enjoyed the canoes.
Tomorrow will be as varied and we are hoping for another day of good weather.

Day One

We arrived safely, a little later than expected. Another smaller bus needed to transport some of the luggage. Having driven through torrential rain showers on the way, we were pleased to arrive to a lovely evening.
All children very excited - rooms sorted after the group introduced to our groupies Kat and Connie. Timetable given out for our week's activities with an early start tomorrow. Some will be canooing as well as climbing, fencing and zip-wire. A fully packed week planned. Teachers feel exhausted already!!!!!!
